Powertrain and Performance
Mazda released the specs for the new 2018 Mazda6 engine pretty early on, but it’s worth mentioning again, considering Mazda’s stellar reputation for providing unparalleled performance. The new available Dynamic Pressure Turbocharged SKYACTIV®-G 2.5T engine delivers 250 horsepower, in contrast to the previous model’s 184-horsepower rated engine. It also comes with upgrades to the suspension and the chassis that make steering smoother and easier.
The 2018 Mazda6 has also gotten some exterior upgrades. Borrowing the Vision Coupe’s “Mature Elegance” design language, the Mazda6 gets a new fascia and grille, as well as standard LED headlights. All of this comes together for a sharper look. Two new paint colors are joining the palette, too.
The inside of the 2018 Mazda6 has been revamped for a more elegant, refined look and feel. Only a few things were carried over from last year’s cabin, providing you with an all-new interior that features add-ons such as UltraSuede NU, Nappa leather, and Sen wood.
