2019 Mazda6 Earns 2019 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK | Bedford, OH
The stylish, luxurious, and fun-to-drive 2019 Mazda6 is one of the safest vehicles in its class, and it has the hardware to back it up. The new Mazda6 was recently named a TOP SAFETY PICK by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety when equipped with the LED projector headlights available on the Grand Touring Reserve and Signature trims.
Mazda6 Safety Tests
To earn the 2019 IIHS TSP, the 2019 Mazda6 scored ratings of “Good” in all six crash tests: the driver-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraint tests as well as the passenger-side small overlap front test. It also earned a “Superior” score for front crash prevention thanks to its standard Advanced Smart City Brake Support with Pedestrian Detection and Smart Brake Support with Collision Warning, which helped avoid a collision at 12 mph and reduced impact speed by 24 mph in the 25-mph test.
“Mazda designs its vehicles with the driver in mind. Taking an active approach to safety gives the driver more peace of mind, which makes driving more fun,” said Mazda President Jeff Guyton. “Confident driving is better driving, and the updates to the 2019 Mazda6 show Mazda’s commitment to providing our customers with advanced safety technologies.”
2019 Mazda Awards
In addition to the 2019 Mazda6, the 2019 Mazda3 Sedan, 2019 Mazda3 Hatchback, 2019 Mazda CX-3, and 2019 Mazda CX-9 have all earned the 2019 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK. The 2019 Mazda CX-5 earns the top honor from the IIHS with the TOP SAFETY PICK+.
